Yam Apple

Ingredients

Hirsch's Apples, cored and peeled
2-16 oz. Cans Yams, drained and patted dry
8 Tbl. Butter, melted
1/2 C Dark Corn Syrup
1/3 C + 2 Tbl. Brown Sugar
2 Tbl. Sherry
3/4 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/8 Tsp. Salt
Directions
Slice apples
and set aside. In food processor, puree yams, 6 tablespoons
butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, sherry, cinnamon and salt. Spread
half of mixture into 10" pie pan or casserole dish. Place
half of the apples on top. Repeat layers. Brush
top of apples with remaining butter. Bake uncovered
at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes. This dish
can be frozen.
